Last 6-7 miles very tough. Could not have run the last 1 mile that I walked. Must pace it better at the beginning. Even though I felt good at the start and tried to hold back, I didn't have anything left at the end. That could also be a function of the fact that I had to cut way back on running the week before the La Quinta Triathlon because of a muscle strain. By the marathon I hope to be in better shape after consistent workouts though all of May. Then I think I can sustain my pace. Nutrition was good but won't work on race day. Should work on creating a paste mixture to carry along with electrolyte capsules (and gel for backup) and rely on water at the aide stations. Also wear my fuel belt with 2 waters and 2 bottles of concentrated fuel for the first 2 hours of the race.
