Sunday, 30 September 2007 - 10K Run AIDS Walk S.D.

10K Run San Diego AIDS walk
54:21
8th of 14 Men age 50-59
115th of 230 Men overall
151st of 455 overall
Mile pace=8:45

First 10K. Took 30 second walk breaks every 7 minutes.

I learned 2 things: 1. Know the race course. I thought the finish was a couple tenth of a mile sooner than it was so I had to take another walk break just before the end because I pushed the pace too soon. 2. Put your keys, with the remote control, in a plastic bag so it won't stop working after you pour water over your head.

Pleased with my race. Ran a little too fast for the first 1.5 miles, but not bad. Kept the volunteers along the course smiling.
