Written Sun 9/20 - This was a recovery week, with reduced intensity and volume. Though I cut back on these I don't think I ever felt really good. I should still benefit from the enforced reduction. I decided to change my decision about how I approach the next 9 weeks and the prewritten workout plan. I had decided to remove some of the last few "peak phase" weeks, reasoning that the I wouldn't be ready for those workouts without a slower build-up before the peak workouts are done without risk of injury. My intension now is to adapt the workouts so they're a combination of so-called build and peak workouts. A blending you might say. I think I know enough to be able to do that without raising the risk of injury. I also have lots of training under my belt when I step back and look at the past year. I was going to have to adjust and adapt anyway so why shortchange myself of doing the best that I can on November 22nd just because I rigorously followed a plan in a book instead of reaching farther. Of course I know I won't be able to do all of them as prescribed because of work and life, so adaptation is part of the game anyway.

Acupuncture continues to be frustratingly slow and I'm less and less optimistic. I go on Monday. Time is running out and the foot hurt more this past weekend than all during the weekend for unknown reasons.

Also going to my Oriental Medicine doctor on Monday to treat the return of pouchitis. At least I don't have the usual fatigue/malaise or the bowel urgency.
